Dermatology expert to lead Dechra CPD seminars

Veterinary product specialist Dechra is to host a series of free interactive roadshows this year focusing on a step by step approach to the itchy, uncomfortable patient.

The Continuing Professional Development (CPD) events entitled Starting from Scratch, will initially take place in three locations across the country.

Each interactive session will share a best practice approach to diagnosis and treatment of a dermatology case drawing on case study material.

The first three CPD events announced for 2016 will be held at Stirling on April 20, Gatwick on May 11 and Darlington on May 18.

Peter Forsythe BVM&S DVD MRCVS, founder of the Dermatology Referral Service, based in Glasgow, will present these interactive events. Peter spent 14 years in general practice before specialising in veterinary dermatology and is a Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Recognised Specialist. An honorary lecturer at Glasgow University Veterinary School, Peter has special interests in ear disease and bacterial skin disease and is co-author of a textbook in veterinary dermatology. He is a member of the British College of Veterinary Specialists.

The events begin with registration at 7.00pm with a buffet being served from 7.30pm. The presentation will begin at 8.00pm with plenty of time for questions following the presentation.

Dechra Brand Manager Claire Morgan said: “These CPD events are part of Dechra’s ongoing commitment to support veterinary professionals in their day to day work. “Dermatological conditions are regularly presented in practice and cases can be challenging, sometimes even frustrating. These CPD events have been designed to provide a practical approach to the itchy, uncomfortable patient.”

There are limited places available at each event. To book a place on Starting from Scratch register in advance at

Attending one of the seminars gives delegates two hours towards their own CPD requirements.
